The building is different from what is usual in this type of institution as it was designed and built specifically for this purpose and by a team of technicians who are used to working on similar projects.

Always with the child and their well-being in mind, all the rooms (activity rooms, common room, bathrooms, circulation areas, etc.) are spacious and full of natural light provided by the large number of windows throughout the building. The windows in the activity rooms open directly onto the garden lawn, allowing constant interaction between the internal and external environments.

Here, each activity has a unique space for its development, the teaching activities take place in the respective activity rooms, there is a common room whose function is solely for the playful meeting of children of all age groups; a cafeteria, four rest rooms and also a large gymnasium for motor activities.

The choice of materials was also made with the child in mind; the entire floor of the nursery is covered in linoleum and there are no architectural barriers, allowing users to move around freely. This means that children with mobility difficulties can attend Garatuja, as there is also an elevator and the bathrooms have been adapted for this purpose.

As far as security is concerned, we comply with all Portuguese law and have installed a video surveillance system throughout the building (inside and out).
